Well the holidays seem to be quickly coming upon us, which is always a good thing I suppose. In the next week we have Thanksgiving, which means it is time for buttered rum mix to be made. This year, I had decided to run with this mixture, it is a bit more spiced up from last year. Originally I found this on the internet, but we changed it up (of course). I’ll share the secret, here ya go:
1/2 gallon premium vanilla ice cream, softened
1 pound real butter, softened (no substitute)
1 (1-pound) box powdered sugar
1 (1-pound) box dark brown sugar
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients and mixing well. Place in a freezer-safe container and store in freezer until ready to use.
To serve: Place 1 ounce rum in mug with 2 tablespoons mix. Fill mug with boiling water and top with additional nutmeg, if desired
Now I personally have found that the good Captain Morgan works better than Bicaradi, for those special occasions use the Captain’s Private Stock.
