I just installed and I’m now testing out the latest client version of the Google Talk Labs Edition. So far the coolest part is that it has “Invisible” mode built in. The interface does seem awful slick, I’m going to give it a full test tomorrow when I get to the office. That is when I communicate with the highest number of contacts. I am pretty impressed so far though, then again I am easily impressed.
Ranking really high on the “weird and didn’t see that one coming” scale is my old music teacher was arrested for posession of child porn. I must say, this is most disturbing, and quite shocking. Let me be perfectly clear and say that when he was my drum instructor/teacher, he never struck me as that kinda way, or made any advancements towards me. To be honest, I remember him being pretty much devoted to his family, and quite christian. They always say it is the repressed ones you have to watch out for. Now I’m willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when the cops decide to move in on a teacher, you know they must have some proof. Whatever the case may be, I guess we will see what happens as more details are released.
Day two in Key West started off well enough. I went down to Kino’s to check out some new sandals, I might grab a couple of pairs before I leave. Then we were waiting for my Dad and realized they had dollar beer at Cowboy Bill’s on Duval. Which I was delighted to find out that it was, PBR… We had ordered some food from the Iguana Cafe across the way. They had this great meal called Hog’s Wings. I would highly recommend you try them if you are ever in the area.

We left there and went to the Conch for a little bit to see Sunny Jim, that was pretty standard. Next up, we stopped at the Parrot, Dad and I were hungry so we went over to the Meteor Smokehouse. Now granted, it is Key West, but there was a mouse running around on the floor. That should have been my first clue to leave. We decided to get some sandwiches and were just finishing up when some crazy local who has at least 100lbs on me starts freaking out on me. He was saying things like “I’m going to kill you, you don’t know how close your life is to ending”, I have no idea what his issue was or why he had one with me. So what does the bartender do? Of course, kicks me out cause I’m a trouble maker or something. Not the crazy local dude who obv has some issues. What we should have done is called the cops on this guy, but whatever. They just lost my group’s business for the rest of this trip and every other one. Sadly, the food wasn’t even very good. They don’t even have a website to find someone to complain to. Oh well.

So this morning was kinda fun, I was driving into work and all of a sudden traffic stopped a few miles short of the 295/42 curve heading North. Evidently a big scrap metal truck hit the overpass, broke the water main and caused havoc on my drive in. Be that as it may, it was an awesome crash, and I wish I had gotten better pics of the water pouring down from the overpass. The nice state trooper was giving me nasty looks though, so I just went by.
LOS ANGELES — Days after their wedding, the groom allegedly shot his bride five times in front of their home following an argument, authorities said.
Susan Vanvleet, 41, underwent surgery Monday night at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, said Robin Haynal, a spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. She had been married less than a week to Ramon Peter Mora, 29, who fled the scene after the shooting. Deputies found Vanvleet in the passenger seat of a vehicle outside the Fremontia Avenue home at 1:03 a.m.
“She was actually conscious when we got there and was able to say that she was shot by her new husband,” Sgt. Kish Doyle said. “I think they got married four days ago and they had known each other for a week.”
The woman said she got into an argument with her new husband and he pulled a gun.
Mora, a parolee, had been arrested Jan. 22 on suspicion of carrying an assault rifle, but he posted bail the same day
